G. Benjamin Swope  Lighting Design

G. Benjamin Swope  is a New York City based designer specializing in lighting for live events, theatre, opera, dance, corporate theatre.  He also collaborates on retail window and architectrual projects in and around New York.

Mr. Swope has been working in the industry for nearly 20 years having had early opportunities which informed and guided his training.  Upon earning his M.F.A from the New York University Tisch School for the Arts Design for Stage and Film program, Mr. Swope furthered his training by working with such theatrical designers as Robert Wierzel, Mathew Richards and Scott Zielinski and architectural designers Leni Schwendinger and Charles Cameron.

Recent projects include designs for the Bronx Opera production of The Rivals, LaGuadia High School's productions of Grease and the annual gala this year with performances by and honoring Alan and Marilyn Bergman, the School at Steps annual showcase, Ballet Neo's Appalcachian Suite.  Also, he has collaborated on corporate meetings for Carlson Rezidor, HelmsBriscoe and Target.  He was the associate lighting designer to Mark Barton and director Sam Gold on the broadway play The Realistic Jonese by Will Eno.
